Frugal
I want us to watch our $ even more closely this year. Last year we added two more bills to our debt, but luckily we did pay off our Best Buy credit card within the first week of this month! We already use coupons like crazy, so that will help. I want to put more $ back into my savings account & another account for emergencies. We also started the year off with a new budget. I had heard about the 'envelope system' (Dave Ramsey), so we decided to try it out. We have three envelopes - allowance (out to eat, shopping...), gas, & groceries. I know that things can & will pop up. We're going to see how this goes! B gets paid every two weeks (I get paid once a month), so we do it based off his paycheck. I paid what bills needed to be paid first & looked back to figure out what we normally spend in those three categories & tried to cut it down a little bit. We'll see how it goes! Oh, and ONE year until my car will be paid off! Woo woo!
Health
As well as last year (and every other American in the country), I want to be more healthy. I did pretty good for about the first half of last year. Heck, I even participated in a 5K! Since the start of the new year, B & I have both been working out & eating better. His problem is sweets & mine is portion control! I don't eat a lot of sweets but will pack on some macaroni & cheese & eat five pieces of bread a one sitting. I have been eating a salad everyday. We don't have any soda in our home, not that we had much last year at all. Sweet tea? Ah, one thing this southern gal can't give up! I haven't had it in about a week though! While we are at home during the evenings together, I have B fix my plate or tell me 'no' when I want more. Trust me, it doesn't always make me happy, but I want him to do this. I need him to. We are in this together, which makes it so much easier!
Want to know one thing that is motivating us?
We are leaving to go to Florida in 50 days, to hop on a cruise ship in 51 days with Bethany & her husband!
Faith
We also want our faith in the Lord to grow. It is very healthy! It is healthy to our marriage & every day life. We both have things we can work on. We always will! I need to quit being selfish & trust more in Him. God has blessed us in so many ways. We owe him so much! We want to continue to get better at tithing, read our Bible more, & continue to pray every day together. Everything seems so much more at ease when we pray together!

I can't believe its been two years since Shelbi was born and you started to blog - time flies! Try not to stress too much over finances... I feel like that was one BIG downfall that Trey and I had. I just worried about money too much and it put a lot of stress on our relationship. And I'm with B, I can't go a day without something sweet!
Ahh how awesome that you will be going on a cruise. You will have an amazing time. :)
Yay for a cruise!
I love the idea of the 3 envelope system for budgeting. This is something we need to work on too. Last year we made way too much stupid spending and I'm determined to make it stop.
Great post! Happy Birthday Shelbi!
A cruise with Bethany and Shawn?!? How awesome! Pack me please! ;)
Good luck on the three envelope system!! I sat in on a Dave Ramsey course that my parents took a couple years ago and I definitely want to do it with my man. Such an important tool to have in your marriage!!
